Guess what I got! A wonder woman award. I am honored, delighted, and pleased to get this from a woman who has been a wonder to me.
Now I get to pass it on. Am I allowed to pass it back? After all, Childlife's Michelle, who passed this award to me, is a wonder woman herself. Yes, she got the award once already, but she certainly would do well to get it again.
Next, I'm gonna just tip my hat to Melody over at Slurping Life. She is a bit further in this special purpose parenting journey than many I know in bloggy land, so she serves as a fantastic mentor to those of us following behind. Melody has gotten this award twice already, but she blesses my silly little heart on a nearly daily basis, and for me to do this without mention of Slurping Life would be a crime.
So now to give out the award to new recipients. Heather amazes me, and I'm hard to amaze. I have been there, done that, and I'm tougher than most, so for her to stand out like she does as a beacon in my day, and to spread the light of the Spirit, far and wide, even while battling brain cancer and parenting the amazing miss Emma and her homeschooling her other kids, well, ya gotta hand it to Heather. If you haven't been there, please take some time to visit her at Especially Heather today. You will leave blessed and uplifted, guaranteed.
Last, Tammy, mommy of the medically fragile Parker is a serious wonder woman! She keeps her sense of humor and grace despite the sometimes dire health her son endures. Parkey is a mere 19 pounds approaching his 3rd birthday, he has a trach, colostomy, and numerous other gadgets and gizmos to keep him alive and functioning. He is the most darling thing on 2 legs, and all his mommy wants is for him to be healthy. While you're popping over to Tammy's place, please consider a donation. Parker's insurance is a joke, and unbelievably enough, he doesn't qualify for medicaid. He is on the brink of another hospital admission, and judging from what I have seen on Schmoozer's bills (all paid in full by our insurance and medicaid) these admissions can cost more than a year's income! Seriously, Schmoozer's admissions to the peds main floor, not ICU, not including surgical costs, not including proceedures or doctors fees, just the hosptial stays have exceeded the Chief's income for this year. We are incredibly blessed by excellent insurance, but Parker is not. So if you are in the Thanksgiving and Christmas spirit, and feel generous enough to help out a family in true need, please pop over here and lighten the load of this amazing mom!
